In Colorado, there is a group of individuals who are dedicated to conserving energy; the Colorado Renewable Energy Society (CRES). The group is a chapter of the American Solar Energy Society and is split into several regional groups. Completely nonprofit, the organization aims to make everyone aware of the environmental and budget-friendly benefits of saving energy. So how does the organization make their advice known? The committee is dedicated to meeting every month, as well as providing webcasts on renewable sources and saving energy. Some of the bigger events that the CRES hosts include the Colorado Renewable Energy Conference and the Colorado Tour of Solar Homes. On top of all of their already outstanding work, the organization recognizes energy efficiency in others, too. The group awards local builders, owners, architects and engineers whenever they effectively save energy in their projects. To learn more about CRES, and to read their monthly newsletter, visit the organization’s website.
